Pizzas to celebrate $800,000 Gold Lotto win
A Lowood family celebrated winning just over $800,000 in Saturday night’s Gold Lotto draw by having pizzas for dinner.
“We thought we’d do something a bit different to celebrate when we found out that we’d won so we had a pizza dinner,” the winner said.
“It’s not something that we usually do,” he said of the celebratory dinner.
The Lowood man, in his forties, said he randomly chose the numbers for his regular 12 game ticket last week.
“I just crossed out a heap of numbers without really thinking about it,” he said.
The careless crossing on his coupon won him $800,088.30 in total, picking up the division one prize plus two division four prizes.
He purchased his winning ticket, which cost just $7.25, from newsXpress Lowood.
There were five division one winners in Saturday night’s Gold Lotto draw. Two of the winning entries were sold from Queensland, two from Victoria and one from Western Australia.
The winning numbers were 36, 37, 28, 11, 40 and 19. The supplementary numbers were 17 and 29.
